Carolinas Broyhill Youth Development Retreat Since 1988
The Carolinas Broyhill Youth Development Retreat (CBYDR) is a version of the Broyhill Leadership Conference created just for GIRLS in DSS, foster care, or residential children’s homes in North or South Carolina. CBYDR is a unique, life-changing experience for the girls who attend each year. During the four-day, three-night conference, girls ages 13-19 are challenged to learn, develop, and practice leadership and relationship skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. While the content of what we teach at CBYDR is serious and challenging, the way in which we teach it appeals to teen girls and puts it on a level they can understand, make their own, and begin to write their own success story!
At CBYDR you have a unique opportunity to meet other girls just like you from all over North and South Carolina. You will meet girls who have had similar life experiences and can truly relate to the way you feel. You will have the opportunity to hear their stories and share your own, if you choose. You will realize that you are not alone.
CBYDR will be held on the campus of Queens University of Charlotte in Charlotte, NC from June 17-20, 2013. The fee to attend is only $200. This fee includes the curriculum you will use throughout the week and take home with you. It includes supplies for all the activities you will do during the week. It also includes 3 nights lodging and 8 meals (dinner on the first day through breakfast on the last day). That is an incredible value that you’ll not find anywhere else!
The CBYDR registration deadline is June 4, 2013. Social Workers and Agency Representatives may contact Tomorrow's America Foundation for the complete application packet - by phone or email.
The generosity of the Broyhill Family Foundation, as well as other private donors, is responsible for helping to minimize the cost to attend CBYDR.* Their contribution to Tomorrow’s America Foundation each year allows us to offer CBYDR to girls who are interested in setting goals, becoming a team player, maintaining a positive mental attitude, communicating more effectively, cultivating positive relationships, and making sound moral choices. You will not find a leadership conference anywhere that offers so many years of experience, has a curriculum and activities designed specifically for girls just like you, and is still so affordable.
We guarantee that you will love the time you spend at CBYDR, and we look forward to meeting you there!
